Is sticking up for sex workers not part of @oschoolLive values?

Don't hire until you can provide for your current employees! This viewer wants a freeze on recruiting at @oschoolLive until worker demands are met.

If @abarrica really cares about helping sex educators, she'll make sure they can earn a living wage. Tipping is not sustainable. Change @oschoolLive policy.

Sex educators and sex workers need to stick together. Let your educators talk about sex work on @oschoolLive, @abarrica.

Dissent is democratic! @oschoolLive needs to listen to @AndreShakti, @Fun_Size_SexEd, and @SarahBHoll and change their policies.

I’m a sex worker ally and I believe O.school needs to be vocal in their support of sex workers in the wake of SESTA/FOSTA. O.school needs to host more content that destigmatizes sex work, not less. I’m calling on founder Andrea Barrica to lift the gag order on sex work discussions for O.school sex educators.

I care about making sex education accessible AND sustainable. That means paying sex educators a living wage. I’m calling on founder Andrea Barrica and her team to find a more equitable means of paying the educators at O.school.

O.school needs to do better by its sex educators. I’m calling on founder Andrea Barrica and her team to institute transparent policies around payment structures and company communications for their contractors.

I don’t want to break up with O.school, but I’m deeply disturbed by how the company is treating its sex educators. I want to see pleasure-based sex ed that also supports the workers who dedicate their lives to it. That includes sex workers!

Dear Andrea,

I’m a fan of O.school and pleasure-based #sexyed but I’m deeply disturbed by the revelations from former pleasure professionals about your management of the company. I believe sex educators deserve to be paid a living wage, understand the terms of their employment with your company, and should be able to speak their mind without fear of reprisal.

I’m asking you to take a number of steps to show that that O.school values transparency, economic justice, and solidarity with sex workers.

  1. Lifting the ban on sex work discussions via livestreams so that educators can continue to educate and advocate for this vulnerable community.
  2. End the tipping system in favor of a more sustainable form of payment for sex education services
  3. Enact a 6 month moratorium on recruitment of new educators until a sustainability plan is made publicly available and tested.
  4. Release an actionable accountability statement with a commitment to transparency in future administrative actions and pay negotiations

When you do these things, I’ll be able to fully support O.school and its work again.
